I started thinking about how to make time for blogging. It seems I do not have all the time I would like to do that. Every few days I like to go back over the past few days and do an assessment of what I have accomplished. Here is what I accomplished over the Thanksgiving holiday.
On Monday I went back to work after being off for four days for Thanksgiving. I had plans to get a lot more done on my websites than I did but family responsibilities took priority.
I worked on my book website part of the day on Friday and Saturday. I made sure that all my links were working and added a few more. I also finished a review that I had been working on. I have some reviews that I need to finish for this website also but I need much more time than I have now.
My full-time job takes priority over my blogging many times unfortunately so I do what I can.
So, when you work full-time, are a student taking a full load of classes, or a parent taking care of kids, how do you make time for blogging? I personally have had to get creative.
I have been working from home much of the time since mid-March. I have fit my blogging into smaller chunks of the day.
If I have a few minutes in the morning before I log in for work I may fit in a few words here and there. Most often I take an hour lunch and I am able to jump on the computer and work on a post. And sometimes after I finish a day of work, if I’m not too tired I will work on something. It is not easy but when something matters to you, you find the time.
Sometimes, I take my laptop and work on things while sitting with the family watching a movie. It makes it a little harder but I am able to get a few things done, even if it is just logging onto Canva and creating my pins for Pinterest or logging on to one of the image sites I use and look for images for some of my posts.
So, make time for blogging when you can, and don’t get too stressed about not getting it all done in one day. Blogging is something that should be fun and enjoyable for you. If it becomes too much of a chore, you will not continue doing it.

As a blogger, taking blogging as a part time job or side hustle, sometimes it is very difficult to make out time to blog. I can tell this is so because I have friends who are part time bloggers. I see how they sometimes struggle to create time to blog. I think sharing this article will be a source of morale boost to them. Thanks for this.
Thank you, Nelson. I agree that it is hard to find time to get our blogging done but if we enjoy it we keep at it. I would love to do more but time just doesn’t allow for it.
Oh, ofcourse I will take your advice to make out time for myself to go into blogging. The advice is good and it is something I would strongly be looking to take to. I’m happy with this information and about how I would be able to work around my schedule to become a better blogger. I would use your experience to my advantage.
Great, Jamie. I hope you can find ways to make blogging time for yourself. This just made me think of another post I could do maybe about the strategies for making time to blog.
It’s true. When you have a full-time job and a family to look after, it gets difficult to find the time to sit down for long periods of time to get chunks of writing done.
I, like you, fit it in where I can, on my iPad in front of the TV or while I wait to fetch kids, early in the morning when I can’t sleep, and even if I get a spare few minutes during the day. It is amazing how much one can actually get done if you stick with it. The trick is to just keep going as best you can and it does eventually get done.
Thank you. I do agree with you. Like I stated in my post if it is something you enjoy doing you will find a way to get it done.
